The Sound of Music

I constructed this assemblage—all about music, violins, imagination, childhood memories, dancing, and a bygone era—with bits of crocheted lace and chiffon, an actual seashell, a tiny metal violin, and vintage photographs.  The photo of the little girl is tinted with shades of yellow, and underneath meander layers of handmade papers in creams and yellow tones.  To add to the piece’s charm, all of the above sits on an antique piece of sheet music that is a polka, and the frame is faux finished with various shades of gold paint and a hint of turquoise.
