Custom Pet Art
Have that special pet photo transformed into a colorful work of art, surely to be treasured for a lifetime. Susan will work her digital photographic wizardry on the image, has created several unique and witty backgrounds for you to choose from, and will work with any color combinations you can imagine.
E-mail Susan a photo (rbirdart@ verizon.net) and note that one of the most important things to remember when selecting the photo is its focus/sharpness (the larger the file size, the better the print). The canvas prints are 14" x 14" x 1.25". The canvas itself is gallery-wrapped, UV-coated, and water-resistant. The print is ready to hang and made in the good ol' USA.
Photography
Susan Ellen Love has created a series of photographic fine art prints of pictures she has taken throughout Europe (particularly Italy) and up and down the Eastern and Western coastal cities of the United States. Of course, Santa Barbara, CA, is a constant inspiration.
Digital Photographic Collages
The world in which we live—frantic, frenetic, frazzling, often frightening—is the inspiration behind Susan’s digital photographic collages. In these pieces, she juxtaposes images, colors, and forms to create whimsical wonderlands filled with dreams, visions, and glimpses of the surreal: in short, an environment in which the viewer can escape from the din of the ordinary into the den of the extraordinary.
Painted Pictures
Susan has embraced the digital world of Photoshop and really enjoys taking pictures of the world around her and altering these photographs to create—in addition to digital collages—what she calls “painted pictures,” or the imaginative manipulation of striking photographs, which transforms these photos to yet another level or dimension.
Note Cards
Many of Susan’s photographic prints—in the form of photography, digital photographic collages, and “painted pictures”—are also available as attractive note cards, with envelopes included. When you place your order, you may select any combination of the various cards individually, or the pre-selected boxed sets of ten.
Assemblages
After studying early in her art career with renowned paper maker Douglas Howell, Susan developed her unique style in the creation of mixed-media assemblages. They are three-dimensional in nature, built up on levels or layers and underlaid with a variety of soft and colorful fabrics, handmade papers, leather, and trim. More often than not, Susan will include photographs in these works.
Personalized Lovables Name Print
These unique, personalized name prints are constructed with Susan's hand-drawn "Lovables" Alphabet, each letter in the shape of a happy, colorfully dressed child. "Boy," "Girl," and "Mixed" versions are available. Each print is hand-signed and printed on the highest quality archival matte fine art paper. What a distinctive, wonderful gift for your favorite child!
Mosaics
Susan’s colorful, cheeky mosaics were inspired by those of the brilliant Catalan artist and architect, Antoni Gaudì, especially the ones on the benches, ceilings, and sculptures in Barcelona’s Park Güell.
Her mosaics can be either purely decorative or practical (mirrors, furniture, fireplaces, kitchen backsplashes, bathroom showers, etc.).
Susan’s mosaics are alive with color and movement, but what makes them unique is the whimsical way in which she conceives them: She includes in them all kinds of disparate materials, including cut tiles, stones, glass beads, broken bits of dining plates, shards of china, even earrings and teacup handles!
Personal Histories
These are one-of-a-kind commissioned works of art. Using her keen sense of design and eye for color, Susan Ellen Love joins together papers, paints, and textures with your most treasured memories (objects, photographs, clippings, etc.) to create a unique and meaningful work of art. Which will not only be the most heartfelt gift you could give to a loved one, but also a continuing source of pleasure and joy. They range in price, according to size and contents, from $500.00 to $5,000.00. Please discuss your specific project with Susan by clicking the link "Contact the Artist."
Infant Apparel
Awww, how adorable! These darling onesies and bibs for children 3-12 months have produced many howls of laughter, tears of joy, and nods of pride from their parents and grandparents. They “speak” for themselves.

Rainbows of Love Suncatchers
Susan has always been entranced by the natural beauty of rainbows, and they are the inspiration of her artistic creations she lovingly calls “Rainbows of Love Suncatchers.” They are strategically threaded glass beads and crystals of varying sizes, interspersed with and enhanced by beads of Italian silver that she personally hand-picked in various open-air markets in the Roman section of Trastevere. These “Rainbows of Love Suncatchers” are striking to look at, but the real magic happens when they are hung on a hook near a window. As the sun’s rays catch the beads and crystals, the entire room is flooded with gorgeous little rainbows—on the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. Presto!
MIxed-Media Sculpture
As the name implies, mixed-media sculpture is created by using a variety of alternative materials: paper, fabrics, plastics, steel, cast iron, found objects, cast aluminum, glass, rubber, and a whole lot of imagination. In addition, these mixed pieces often employ a variety of fabrication processes to yield their unusual—often unexpected—results. Susan loves to recycle and repurpose, and what better way than to make a pleasing piece of art out of something that was headed for the trash?
Sojourner Cafe Show
